Welcome to Athenry Local History references. I decided to do this because I though it would be easier than having the bibliography and references at the bottom of ALH blog. So if you want me to prove were I got my sources this is the blog you go too.
I believe the location listed for Stephen and William Burke is CAHERTUBBER, not Carrowtubber. I means three wells I was told by a member of the Burke family as there are three holy wells on the property in Athenry. I see other members of this same family listed, namely the Kennedys and Molloy. I hope this helps someone out there that is trying to figure what happened to everyone after those dreadful famine years. Susan Burke (nee O'Donnell)
